1st Coast School of Insurance offers the following courses:
- 200 Hour Pre-licensing course for General Lines 2-20 License
- 60 Hour Personal Lines course for 20-44 License
- 40 Hour Conversion course from 4-40 or 20-44 License to 2-20 License
The Florida General Lines 2-20 License, or "Property-Casualty License", allows individuals to transact insurance business in Personal and Commercial Lines of insurance. These lines include: Workers' Compensation, Surety, Marine, Health and Miscellaneous Lines.
This license also enables an individual to open and operate their own independent insurance agency.
**Members of the US Armed Forces & their spouses that are in good standing or honorably discharged (No time-frame) are EXEMPT from Any Licensing pre-qualification requirements!
**Also, if in Active Service, or recently discharged (within 24 months) & spouses, you are exempted from the application filing fees (send docs to AgentLicensing@myFloridaCFO.com & include your application ID number in the Subject line! The State Test will still be required for all Insurance licenses (except those requiring a 'designation').
Steps and requirements to obtaining a Resident 2-20 General Lines License:
*No Insurance Experience:
*The 200 hour General Lines Qualification Course must be completed with a passing grade of 70% or higher within four (4) years of the application date for the General Lines 2-20 license.*

The 60 hour Personal Lines Course for 20-44 License must be completed with a passing grade of 70% or higher.

Insurance Experience:
If you currently hold a Personal Lines (20-44), Customer Service Representative (4-40), or Service Representative (0-55) license and have been appointed for at least one year, you may qualify for a reduction in education hours. A Conversion course is offered to obtain the 2-20 License.

The Florida Personal Lines 20-44 License allows individuals to transact Personal Lines of insurance, including Personal Auto, Homeowners, Dwelling and Personal Liability.

- 40-Hr Life & Annuity 2-14 License
- 40-Hr Health 2-40 License.
The Florida 60-Hr Life, Health & Var-Annuity 2-15 License allows individuals to transact insurance for such as; Health, Life, Disability, Long Term Care, Medicare Supplements, and Fixed Annuities (Variable Annuities also require at least a Series 6 for Mutual Funds/Securities).
The Florida 40-Hr Life & Annuity 2-14 License allows individuals to transact insurance for such as; Life and Fixed Annuities.
The Florida 40-Hr Health 2-40 License allows individuals to transact insurance for such as; Health, Long Term Care, and Medicare Supplements.
