Eddie Swann

Owner

I have been actively working and teaching in the insurance industry for the last 30 years. I hold a 215 Life, Health and Annuities license and LUTCF designation, as well as a 220 General Lines Property and Casualty license and CSA designation. I spent 15 years with Mutual of Omaha ending there as a general manager for the state of MN, overseeing 40 agents and managers. I taught at FSCJ for 6 years, focusing on pre-licensing and CE courses for Property and Casualty as well as Life, Health and Annuities. I opened my own agency First Coast Insurance Solutions and sold over 1.3M in premium within 3 years. For the next 10 years I worked as an educator and the Jacksonville franchise owner of Hilda Tucker Insurance School. I have since started 3 companies; 1st Coast School, Sunshine State School of Insurance, and North FLA Agency. I am committed to a high standard of excellence and establishing a firm relationship of mutual trust and service in all that I do.

Gamal Lyons

Owner

I’ve been in the Financial Services industry for over 40 years, working with several Insurance Companies and Banks in the area. I got my L/H license in the 70’s & earned the LUTCF designation. I taught LUTC classes for over 10 yrs with the American College, while earning my CLU. I’ve had a P/C license for over 40 yrs, spending over 20 yrs affiliated with Allstate as an Agent, Field Mgr, and Regional Training Mgr. Because of my Training position and past experience, I also had received my CIC designation, spending time working along side many Independent Agencies & approved to teach CIC classes with the PIA/National Alliance.

I've also taught Pre-licensing classes for 8 yrs in So FL, and for the last 12 yrs here in Jacksonville, working with the Sunshine State School, a former franchisee w/Hilda Tucker Insurance School, before setting up the 1st Coast School, the only Ins-School with Classroom training in the North Florida area!

Mincy Pollock

Instructor

I’ve been in the insurance community for 7 years and hold a 215 Life Health & Annuity License and 220 General Lines Property and Casualty License. I am the Founder and CEO of Florida Care Assurance Group a Local Florida Blue agency. I have been a Preceptor of Bethune-Cookman University, College of Health Sciences since 2014. I am both an Affordable Care Act Specialist and Medicare Advantage Specialist. I have been recognized by U.S. Secretary Of Health and Human Services, Sylvia Mathews Burwell for outstanding Community partnerships of ACA enrollments in Duval County. I am a Partner and General Manager of a full lines agency and have been for the last 3 years. I was awarded the Ward Services National Group Sales Leader. I am currently in my second year teaching pre-licensing classes in conjunction with 1st Coast School and the No Veteran Left Behind scholarship program.

Irving C. Lunsford, III

Instructor

Having been in the Insurance and Financial Services Industry since 1971, I have served as a selling agent, training manager, general manager, and as a Regional and Corporate Executive for two major insurance companies. I have also acted as the Chief Compliance Officer for a boutique private equity firm. I have worked side by side with agents, brokers and managers for over 40 years. My educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of William & Mary in Virginia as well as the Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Registered Health Underwriter, and the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow designations. The role of instructor for the 1st Coast School of Insurance has provided me the opportunity to give back to a great industry that has been my life’s work.
